May 06, Gary Butler rated it it was amazing Shelves: fantasy. This book is less than 80 pages which is the cut off line for a book to be entered onto my all time book list. I do not really consider this to be a book at all. This is a mere 20 pages, which gets it a written review instead of a video review.
This is a prequel short story to the amazing Prowl trilogy. The story explains why the lead character is going to visit her Grandma in the first book. It also introduces some characters that are in the first and second books. Overall it is not necessary t This book is less than 80 pages which is the cut off line for a book to be entered onto my all time book list. Overall it is not necessary to read this before the reading the first book in the series. I think I actually liked it more because I had already read the trilogy and this was like a behind the scenes bonus feature.
Nov 30, Lucinda rated it it was amazing. Intensely gripping and full of electric tension that sends chills down your spine, this is the most exciting YA series I have encountered this year!! In regards to high school Kenzie is your typical seventeen year old teenager who loves to party and drink, and fantasizes about boys including Caleb whom she has had a crush on for years.
With best friend Hayley averting her attention towards her boyfriend and with her mother hardly ever being at home, within the emptiness and the dark there is something more sinister that lurks beneath the surface. Constant nightmares since a child, Kenzie hears a creepy voice that urges her to release all this pain inside by self-harming and cutting. She also senses that she is being watched and that she is never really quite alone, as this feeling of foreboding comes to the surface and eventually out into the light. With the lack of communication between herself and her mother, their strained relationship comes to a head so that Kenzie escapes from all she knows to a place of safety and calm you would think.
I am so impressed, astounded and awestruck by such a fantastic storyline that is inspired, original and spectacular and which I guarantee will have you sat on the edge of your seat wanting to read more. View 1 comment.

Honestly this twenty page e-book will leave you wanting more. Especially when it also gives you a sneek peek into the next book. Author Amber Garza is a great writer. Her stories will not let you down. The flows and the characters are amazing.
The only thing was it is just too short.. I know it was meant as a teaser, but I would like for there to have been more in this book. Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for my review. I glanced up at Tanner who was staring right at me with a look so intense it caused heat to rise up my neck and spill across my cheeks. Taking a deep breath, I averted my gaze. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone with the intention of taking a couple photos. I wanted to believe that Tanner only thought of me as a friend, and that he supported my relationship with Isaac.
I shook my head. Relief swept over his features. He beamed at me. Holding it out in front of us, he pressed his cheek to mine and snapped a shot. He was so close I could smell his aftershave lotion, and the sweat on his skin. My pulse quickened. My heart pounded in my chest. He turned to me, his face inches from mine. I froze, unable to move or even breathe. His face came closer and somewhere in the back of my mind, alarm bells went off.
I knew I should step back, or push him away. But my feet stayed rooted to the ground, like I was a tree on the mountain, a permanent fixture.
